LG Tone Free DFP8W Official with ANC, 24-Hour Battery Life

While it is unfortunate that LG has stopped making phones for good, it still makes wireless audio products, and the Tone Free DFP8W is the Korean brand’s latest offering. As a follow-up to last year’s Tone Free HBS-FN7, the Tone Free DFP8W have a more compact earbud design and still boasts ANC and a UV Nano case that uses ultraviolet light to eliminate 99.9% of E. coli and S. aureus bacteria on the earbuds’ inner mesh and silicone tips.

They sport 8mm dynamic drivers that are co-developed Meridian Audio and feature three microphones–two are meant for calls while one is used solely for ANC. The Tone Free DFP8W comes with Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and supports multi-pairing at up to five devices using Google Fast Pairing and Windows Swift Pair protocols.

Compared to the Tone Free HBS-FN7, the Tone Free DFP8W offers an IPX4 rating and supports aptX, AAC, and SBC codes. For battery life, they last for up to 6 hours with ANC on and up to 10 hours without ANC. The UV charging case gives the Tone Free DFP8W up to 24 hours of battery life (14 hours if you keep ANC turned on).

LG Tone Free DFP8W Price

The Tone Free DFP8W has a suggested retail price of 180 Euros(~Php 10.6k), and LG has yet to announce its availability. While they are certainly pricey, expect the Tone Free DFP8W to have a lower SRP in Asian markets. That has been the case for the Tone Free HBS-FN7, where it was priced at Php 7,990–around Php 1.5k more affordable than its pricing in Korea.
