LG Unveils their Own Gaming Laptop with the UltraGear 17G90Q

While LG has made a name for itself for its ultralight productivity laptops, the Korean brand formally enters the gaming laptop segment with the UltraGear 17G90Q. On paper, the UltraGear 17G90Q is powerful, with configuration options that include an 11th-generation Intel Tiger Lake H-series CPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q GPU, and up to 32GB RAM and 1TB of storage (which can be configured with a dual SSD setup).

LG is an ace when it comes to displays, and it equips the UltraGear 17G90Q with a large 17-inch Full HD display with a 300hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and 99% sRGB color gamut. Despite being 21.4mm slim, it packs a 93wHr battery, which should be enough for both gaming and content creation use. Port issue is not a problem, as the UltraGear 17G90Q comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-C 3.2 port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI port, MicroSD card slot, headphone jack, and an Ethernet port for those LAN gaming sessions.

As for its build, the UltraGear 17G90Q has an aluminum case and a grey/purple color scheme with UltraGear branding on the lid and on the trackpad.

While it looks promising for a debut gaming laptop, LG did not reveal the pricing of the UltraGear 17G90Q for now. However, LG said that it will make it available in the US and Korea in early 2022, and will reveal more details about it on January 4 during CES 2022.
