Is BlackBerry trying to make a comeback in the low-end segment?
Struggling mobile manufacturer BlackBerry maybe in the dumps as far as overall market share is concerned, but the company is refusing to go down without a fight. The device you see above is their alleged Jakarta smartphone, which some are calling the next Z3 device made by Foxconn for the Canadian company. The phone is rumored to be launched in Indonesia, where BlackBerry still has a high market share compared to the rest of the world. The rumored device is expected to have a $150 or Php 6681 price off contract and is intended for emerging markets such as Indonesia and consequently, the Philippines.

As far as the design of the new device is concerned (if this is the new device) it looks pretty sexy . If the rumored price is true, then BlackBerry may just have what it takes to at least regain some of its market share in emerging countries in Southeast Asia, where the company enjoys a big following because of their messaging service.Â
