Marshall Unveils their First TWS Earbuds

While Marshall has made its name with its wireless and wired speakers and headphones, the London-based brand does not have their own TWS earbuds yet. That’s set to change with the Marshall Mode II.

Marshall Mode II 2

As its debut TWS offering, the Mode II is workout-friendly with its IPx5 rating (IPx4 for the charging case) and is rated for up to 5 hours on a single charge (up to 25 hours with its charging case). Charging is done via USB-C, and like the Major IV, you can charge them wirelessly.

Like previous Mode earphones, the Mode II has the trademark M logo on its body. They come with 6mm drivers, which are custom-tuned according to Marshall’s standards–of which the brand describes as “growling bass, natural-sounding mids and crisp treble”.

The Mode II connects via Bluetooth 5.1, and comes with touch controls that go beyond the usual call and music playback functions. The left earbud lets you access Transparency mode, EQ settings, and voice assistant, while the right earbud is for managing music and calls. Like some of Marshall’s wireless offerings, the Marshall Bluetooth app lets you customize its features further.

Marshall Mode II Price Philippines

The Marshall’s debut TWS earbuds is priced at $219(~Php 10.7k), and will be shipping starting March 18 at their online store. Expect retailers like Digital Walker to have them available soon.

While they are certainly on the pricey side–considering they do not have active noise cancellation and battery life is not as good as more affordable offerings–we will reserve our judgment until we get our hands on a pair for review. We have reviewed several Marshall products on the site, and all of them impressed us.

We do hope that the same applies to the Mode II, especially since these are the first time Marshall is making TWS earbuds as part of its portfolio.
