MediaTek Announces First Gaming-Centric Processor with the Helio G90

They are the first in a new series of Helio processors

MediaTek introduced a new line of 12nm-based Helio processors with the Helio G90 and G90T. The new line will be the Taiwanese chipmaker’s flagship processors, and come with Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 cores, with one of them sporting a 2.05Ghz clock speed. On the GPU side, the Helio G90 and G90T will use a Mali-G76 GPU with clock speeds of up to 800Mhz.

As gaming-centric processors, both the Helio G90 and G90T come with MediaTek’s HyperEngine tech—which is essentially a suite of features aim to improve one’s overall gaming experience. The suite includes intelligent WiFi and LTE switching, simultaneous 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz connectivity, Rapid Response Engine for improved touch input, and support for HDR10

Speaking of cameras, the Helio G90 and G90T support up to a 64-megapixel single camera (or 24-megapixel + 16-megapixel dual camera) setups, are natively compatible with triple and quadruple-camera setups, and can handle 240fps video recording.

Other features include support for up to 10GB LPDDR4X RAM, PumpExpress fast charging, UFS 2.1 storage, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 5, and Full HD+ displays.

MediaTek has yet divulged details on the Helio G90 and G90T’s availability.
