Premium performance for mid-range phones
With all the buzz on the Helio P60, MediaTek is improving its processor portfolio by launching the mid-range Helio P22 processor. What makes this processor stand out is that it is made using a 12nm FinFET process, which MediaTek claims is the first mid-range processor to be made using such process.
Going into the spec sheet, the Helio P22 is an octa-core processor sporting Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2GHz and comes with MediaTek’s NeuroPilot for “the best available AI resource for developer efficiency.” Being a mid-range processor, the Helio P22 supports up to a 13-megapixel + 8-megapixel camera setup, along with up to a 1600 x 720 display with a maximum 20:9 aspect ratio.
Other features include LTE for both SIM cards, Bluetooth 5.0, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, GPS, and GLONASS. As of press writing, the processor will be available by end of June.
