MediaTek’s Helio P90 Beats Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 670 In AnTuTu

It’s also pretty close to the performance of the SD710

It looks like MediaTek may have a winner in their hands with their upcoming upper mid-range Helio P90 chipset. An unknown phone with the company’s mobile processor just got benchmarked in AnTuTu, and from the looks of it the P90 is shaping up to be a formidable mid-range chipset.

The phone, which was armed with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, scored 162K in AnTuTu. For reference, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 670 has a score of around 150K (average) while their slightly higher spec Snapdragon 710 score around 170K.

That puts the Helio P90 smack dab in the middle of Qualcomm’s two new chipsets, making it an excellent choice for manufacturers looking for a middle ground between the two.

MediaTek’s Helio P90 is an octa-core processor with 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores running at 2GHz used during less demanding tasks, while a pair of ARM Cortex-A75 cores running at 2.2GHz takes care of demanding number-crunching apps. The new chip is also capable of supporting hi-resolution cameras up to 48 megapixels and has AI features baked in. You can read more about MediaTek’s chipset here.
