Mi Philippines Starts Teasing Redmi Note 5

Get ready for the local launch of Xiaomi’s next budget phone

Fans of budget Xiaomi phones should start putting aside money, as Mi Philippines is set to announce the arrival of yet another budget device in the country.

The company’s official FB presence posted a photo of the rear of a smartphone with dual cameras arranged vertically with a fingerprint scanner on the rear, with the caption “The successor is coming”.

It’s obvious that the company is teasing the Redmi Note 5, which was launched back in March.

The Redmi Note 5 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, and has 4GB/6GB RAM (depending on the version), along with a 5.99-inch, 18:9 notch-less display and 64GB of expandable storage.

The phone has a 4000mAh battery, dual rear cameras as well as a 20-megapixel front camera. In China the Redmi Note 5 retails for CNY 1699 for the highest tier 6GB/64GB version, or around 14K converted. It is set to release on May 11.
