The Agua Infinity is real, and it’s here!

MyPhone officially took the wraps off of their first octa-core device during the MyPhone YouthTech Congress held at SMX yesterday. The MyPhone Infinity (which is near identical to the Micromax Canvas Knight, pictured above) has the same MediaTek MT6592 processor that powers its rivals, the Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z2 and the Starmobile Diamond X1.

MyPhone Agua Infinity specs

  • 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 5-inch IPS HD display, 1080×1920 resolution
  • Mali 450MP GPU
  • 16GB internal storage, non-expandable
  • 16-megapixel main camera, with autofocus and LED flash
  • 5-megapixel front camera
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

The Infinity has a 5-inch full HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16-megapixel camera and a thin, 7.3mm body. One thing we’re worried about is that the Infinity does not have expandable memory – that’s right, you will be stuck with 16GB of memory if you do decide to buy it, unlike its competitors. It also has a non-removable battery since the design of the phone is a sealed type. Unfortunately, the specs are still incomplete, as the company has yet to mention the battery capacity of the Infinity, nor its price. Normally we’d go with the GSM Arena listing of the Canvas Knight, which states a 2350mAh battery, but the two devices aren’t completely alike internally, as evidenced by the 16GB memory in the Infinity as opposed to the 32GB one on the Canvas Knight. Hopefully MyPhone stays with the battery or at least increases it to offset the somewhat disappointing non-expandable memory on the device. No pricing has been set as of yet, but you can expect the company to price this aggressively around the 12K to 13K range (or lower) to combat the headstart that the two of its biggest rivals enjoy when the device hits MyPhone dealers in the next few weeks.
