Aside from Nokia-branded smartphones, HMD Global is also busy bringing back some of Nokia’s iconic phones in a modern iteration. For this year, HMD Global launched a modern version of the 5310 XpressMusic. For next year, HMD Global is bringing back Nokia’s 8000-series premium feature phones with the Nokia 8000 4G.
While fans may be disappointed by the fact that the Nokia 8000 4G does not have a sliding design, the feature phone will be HMD Global’s most premium one to date with a glass-like design and a 3D curved keymat. As the name implies, it has 4G connectivity and can act as a WiFi hotspot. It is also powered by KaiOS and will come preinstalled with Facebook and WhatsApp.
As for the specs, the Nokia 8000 4G will be powered by a Snapdragon 210 processor that is paired with 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage (expandable via MicroSD), and a removable 1500mAh battery that charges via MicroUSB. You also get a 2.8-inch QVGA LCD display and a 2-megapixel rear camera.
There’s no word yet when the Nokia 8000 4G will launch, but it is expected to go official alongside the rumored Nokia 6300 4G.
