Nokia PureView 808 Phone with a 41-megapixel camera

Nokia announced a new phone at the Mobile World Congress called the Nokia PureView 808. I’ll get straight to the selling point of this handset. It has a friggin’ 41-megapixel camera! Yes, you read that correctly – FORTY ONE. Not FOUR POINT ONE. It’s FORTY ONE! How does it work? It basically captures image data from several adjacent pixels and then condenses it into one solid image with 5-megapixel resolution. The end result is a photo with fantastic detail and clarity.

I’d love to get my hands on a review unit and see for myself how good to camera really is. No word yet on the pricing but Nokia did say it will be in shelves by May this year.

Man… I still can’t get over the 41-megapixel sensor. Hehe. 🙂
