Nokia’s Treasure Tag Alerts You If You Forget Your Stuff at Home

Never accidentally leave your stuff at home again!

If we had a peso for every time we forgot something important when we leave the house, we’d be richer than Napoles. While the technology to actually place a call to your valuables (miss call mo yung wallet mo!) to find out where it is is still non-existent, Nokia came up with the next best thing: the Treasure Tag. The premise is simple – you simply pair the NFC enabled device to your Lumia phone, attach it to the object you don’t want to lose, and voila. The Treasure Tag alerts you if you go out of range of either the phone or the tag, both will emit a loud tone telling you that you forgot something. Again. Even if you somehow miss the loud alert tone on either device, the Windows app will allow you to find it on the map. You can pair up to four Nokia Treasure Tags to your Lumia device, although it will need to have the Lumia Black update for the app to work.

Android and iOS users needn’t fret, as Nokia will also be coming up with the relevant app for their Google and Apple powered devices soon, although the company has not given a solid timetable as of yet. Nokia’s Treasure Tags are powered by a single CR-2032 battery and has a battery life of around six months, according to the company.

The Nokia Treasure Tags will carry a price of $29.90, which is around Php 1338 without taxes and duties when it ships in April, which makes it very affordable.
