OPPO Announces Entry-Level A54 in Indonesia

OPPO Announces Entry-Level A54 in Indonesia

Following the global launch of the A94, OPPO announced a more affordable version in Indonesia with the entry-level A54. The A54 shares similar looks with the A94 though it downgrades on certain aspects to keep prices low.

OPPO A54 Specs:

  • Helio P35 processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 128GB storage
  • 6.51-inch HD+ IPS display
  • 13-megapixel f/1.7 main camera with PDAF, 2-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera, 2-megapixel f/2.2 mono camera
  • 16-megapixel selfie camera
  • 4G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, side-mounted fingerprint scanner
  • 5000mAh battery
  • 18w fast charging
  • Android 10, ColorOS 7.2

As a budget phone, you get an Helio P35 processor that is paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, which is at par with 2021 budget smartphone standards. You get a regular 6.51-inch HD+ display with a 60hz refresh rate and a punch-hole for the 16-megapixel selfie snapper.

Going to the back, you have a triple camera setup that consists of a 13-megapixel main camera and a pair of 2-megapixel sensors–one for macro shots and another for depth sensing.

Keeping the lights on is a 5000mAh battery with 18w USB-C charging. Despite being a 2021 phone, it is strange for OPPO to only include Android 10-based ColorOS 7.2 with the A54 and not Android 11 like the A94. Other features of the A54 include an IPx4 rating, a headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Compared to last year’s A53, the A54 feels a bit of a downgrade since you don’t get a high refresh rate display and stereo speakers. However, the A54 makes up for it with a more powerful processor and double the internal storage.

OPPO A54 Price

The A54 will be available in Indonesia starting April 1 for IDR 2,699,000(~Php 9k) in blue and black. With the A94 available in the Philippines (and a more affordable A74 coming soon), we expect OPPO to bring the A54 to our shores soon.
