Meet the OPPO A71
OPPO is currently updating their entry-level smartphones and they’ve kicked it off by launching the OPPO A71 in Malaysia. It sells for less than Php11,000 and it packs a 1.5GHz MT6750 Octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. This phone doesn’t fall under the “Selfie Expert” bucket of offerings of OPPO as the focus really is on performance versus camera capabilities. It’s most likely geared towards mobile gamers on a budget more than anyone else.

Apart from the specifications, it’s also built to look elegant, slim, and premium despite the price point. As for the price, it sells for 858RM in the OPPO Malaysia website which is around Php10,200 (roughly converted). That obviously doesn’t fall under the traditional pricing of an “entry-level” smartphone. That said we expect it to sell for less than Php10,000 locally, most likely in the Php9,000 range, putting it in the upper tier of entry level devices.
