OPPO is finally bringing over the A74 5G to the Philippines at a competitive price for a mid-range 5G phone. Different from the A74 we all know (and only comes with 4G connectivity), the A74 5G is much closer to the A93 5G that launched in China.

While people would bat an eye on its Snapdragon 480 processor, this 8nm processor supports both mmWave and Sub-6Ghz 5G, making it technically better than the Snapdragon 690 found on phones like the OnePlus Nord N10. Aside from that, the Snapdragon 480 utilizes newer Kryo 460 CPU cores, Adreno 619 GPU, and Spectra 345 ISP.
Going through its spec sheet, you are getting a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a 90hz refresh rate and 180hz touch response rate, though it uses LCD instead of AMOLED–hence the side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
While it has roughly the same camera setup, the A74 5G adds an ultra-wide-angle camera for added versatility. As a minor setback, the A74 5G scales down on charging speeds with a (still-fast) 18w wired charging, but still retains the same 5000mAh battery.
OPPO A74 5G Price Philippines
The A74 5G is priced at Php 15,999, making it the most affordable 5G-ready phone from OPPO in the Philippines right now. It is available for pre-order at OPPO’s official Shopee store until May 4. Those pre-ordering have a chance to be one of two winners of a DJI Air 2s drone.
Aside from being exclusive to Shopee, the A74 5G will be available soon via Smart and Globe.
