Some flagships out in the market ship with QHD displays and 4GB of RAM along with powerful SoCs. It’s a tried and test combination that can run the heaviest games available on the Google Play Store and allow you to multitask when you have to work via your mobile device. We’ve seen a few phones ship with 6GB of RAM and a lot of people already consider that a bit much, but what do you guys think of a phone that has 8GB of RAM and a 4K display? Meet the Meizu Pro 7.
While specs and renders of this device from the Chinese brand have been leaked in the past, “official-looking” marketing materials that are being passed around on the web highlights a few key specs for the Meizu Pro 7 and it’s giving us mixed emotions. Here’s what we know from the images.
Meizu Pro 7 Specs
- MediaTek Helio X30 deca-core processor
- 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM
- 5.7-inch 4k display
- 64GB/128GB of storage
- 12-megapixel rear camera, Sony IMX362 sensor, 10 LED flash array
If what the details in the photos featuring the Meizu Pro 7 are true, the top-of-the-line variant is overkill! Don’t get us wrong. It’s impressive but it’s overkill! The reported 4K display of the Meizu Pro 7 will have a contrast ratio of 10000:1 with 1800-nit brightness and 153% NTSC color gamut packed into 5.7-inches. That’s 772 pixels per inch! While having more than enough RAM definitely beats not having enough of it, 8GB seems a tad excessive; at least for the apps we currently use on our mobile devices.
