Another legacy brand makes a comeback
Remember the brand Palm—the brand that was best known for the Palm Pilot? The brand is back with a rather unusual device.
Called Palm, the tiny device comes with LTE connectivity, but will only work when it is paired with a smartphone. The point of the Palm? To act as a secondary device to your smartphone.
Going into the features, the Palm as the typical makings of a smartphone: Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, a small 3.3-inch HD display, and a tiny 800mAh battery. Its other features include Gorilla Glass 3, USB Type-C, IP68 rating, and a proprietary optical facial recognition sensor. It runs Android 8.1 on top of a skin that’s similar to the Apple Watch’s UI.
Being a secondary device, its $349.99(~Php 20k) asking price is ridiculously expensive for something that you cannot use as a standalone device. On top of that, the Palm is exclusive to Verizon. Will it sell? We will see once the device becomes available next month.
