Motorola has been on a roll with its budget and mid-range smartphones in recent years. However, the brand can’t seem to find success in the premium smartphone segment. With the 2021 update of the Motorola Edge model, they are hoping to change this.
The 2021 Motorola Edge is compressing two previous models, the Edge+ and the regular Edge, into one better smartphone model. The previous edge was packed with a 90Hz 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
So, what’s new with the 2021 model? Well, it now has a bigger and better display coming from a 6.8-inch display screen with a smooth 144 Hz refresh rate. It’s now faster with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. It also comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging capability.
Moreover, the new Edge is running Android 11 with a Motorola user interface out of the box. It also features an IP52 water repellent coating and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
