The Mate 40 Pro sticks to its trademark circular camera module that houses three cameras, while the Mi 11 has a square camera module with two big cameras for the main and ultra-wide-angle camera, and a small camera above the LED flash.

Xiaomi Mi 11 VS Huawei Mate 40 Pro: Display

As premium flagship offerings, both phones offer curved AMOLED displays, with the Mate 40 Pro having a 6.76-inch panel while the Mi 11 goes for a bigger 6.81-inch panel. On paper, the Mi 11 is vastly superior with its Quad HD+ resolution, 120hz refresh rate, and native support for 10-bit color.

Xiaomi Mi 11 VS Huawei Mate 40 Pro: Cameras

Both phones duke it out in the camera department with their triple rear camera setups. While the Mi 11 has a higher resolution 108-megapixel f/1.9 main camera (vs the Mate 40 Pro’s 50-megapixel f/1.9 RYYB camera with OIS), the Mate 40 Pro has a higher-resolution 20-megapixel f/1.8 ultra-wide-angle camera (compared to a 13-megapixel f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle camera on the Mi 11).

In addition, the Mate 40 Pro has the upper hand with its 12-megapixel f/3.4 periscope camera, which is far more useful than the 5-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera found on the Mi 11.

For selfies, the Mi 11 gets a better 20-megapixel snapper though the Mate 40 Pro’s 13-megapixel snapper gets extra assistance from the ToF sensor found on its pill-shaped punch hole.

Xiaomi Mi 11 VS Huawei Mate 40 Pro: Internals and software

We are talking about the best internals possible on both phones, with a Snapdragon 888 on the Mi 11 and Kirin 9000 on the Mate 40 Pro. We have yet tested both processors with our usual benchmark tests, so we reserve this part until we get our hands on a Mi 11 unit to see which of the two flagship processors offer better performance.

Both phones have an 8GB/256GB configuration, though the Mi 11 has a 8GB/128GB variant for those who are on the budget. The Mi 11 skips expandable storage, while the Mate 40 Pro uses Huawei’s proprietary Nano Memory card for expansion.

On the software side, the Mi 11 comes with Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 with Google Services for the global model. The Mate 40 Pro, on the other hand, comes with Android 10-based EMUI 11 with Huawei Mobile Services.

Xiaomi Mi 11 VS Huawei Mate 40 Pro: Battery

While the Mi 11 has a slightly bigger 4600mAh battery (vs 4400mAh on the Mate 40 Pro), the Mate 40 Pro comes with a faster 66w wired charging solution and 50w wireless charging. The Mi 11 is no slouch either, as it has 55w wired charging and the same 50w wireless charging found on the Mate 40 Pro.

For both phones, they do come with the required charger in the box so you have one less item to worry about.

Xiaomi Mi 11 VS Huawei Mate 40 Pro: Price

In the Philippines, the Mate 40 Pro is priced at Php 55,999, while there’s no official local pricing yet for the Mi 11.
