Xiaomi Relaunches 11 Lite 5G with Snapdragon 778G-Powered NE Variant

While the spotlight of the Xiaomi’s event is on the 11T series, Xiaomi also relaunched the 11 Lite 5G, also known as the Mi 11 Lite 5G, with an NE version.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE Specs

  • Snapdragon 778G processor
  • 6GB/8GB LPDDR4x RAM
  • 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 storage
  • 6.55-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, 90hz refresh rate, 10-bit color
  • 64-megapixel f/1.79 main camera with PDAF, 5-megapixel f/2.4 telemacro camera with AF, 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera
  • 20-megapixel selfie camera
  • 4G, 5G
  • WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, in-display fingerprint scanner
  • 4250mAh battery
  • 33w fast charging
  • Android 11, MIUI 12.5

As the added NE branding implies, the only main change here is the swap from a Snapdragon 780G to a Snapdragon 778G. The two processors are practically the same save for the manufacturing process: the Snapdragon 780G uses a 5nm process, while the 778G uses a 6nm process instead.

While Xiaomi did not explain the move, one of the reasons for this is due to the shortage of Snapdragon 780G chips. As a solution to address this, Qualcomm offers the 6nm-based Snapdragon 778G chip to brands—Xiaomi included.

Save for the change in processor, you still get a 6.55-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90hz refresh rate, a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and 5-megapixel telemacro camera, 20-megapixel selfie snapper, and a 4250mAh battery with 33w wired charging.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE starts at 369 Euros(~Php 21.7k) for the 6GB/128GB variant and will be available globally soon. There’s no word if it will be made available in the Philippines, given that we already have the 4G version of the 11 Lite.
