realme GT 5G Spotted on Shopee

by Duey Guison  July 15, 2021

Despite that the realme GT 5G is now official globally, there’s no word yet if the brand’s latest flagship phone is coming to our shores. However, a search over at Shopee reveals this listing of the realme GT that is coming from a Shopee Mall store called realme Factory Store.

realme GT 5G Specs:

  • Snapdragon 888 processor
  • 8GB LPDDR5 RAM
  • 128GB UFS 3.1 storage
  • 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, 120hz refresh rate, 360hz touch sampling rate, support for HDR10+ and DCI-P3
  • 64-megapixel f/1.8 IMX 682 main camera with PDAF, 2-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera, 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera
  • 16-megapixel selfie camera
  • 4G, 5G
  • WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers
  • 4500mAh battery
  • 65w fast charging
  • Android 11, realme UI 2.0

In the said listing, the realme GT 5G has a price of Php 29,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant, though its promo price brings that down to Php 23,559. Comparing the listing’s price to the European SRP, both the promo price and regular price for the realme GT 5G is slightly higher–though there’s a possibility that the Shopee listing includes taxes and duties.

This is an unofficial seller based in Malaysia, and realme Philippines sent us a statement explaining that they are not affiliated with the realme Factory shop. Here’s what they said:

The realme Factory Shop on Shopee and Lazada is not affiliated with realme Philippines. We do not represent these online stores and are not liable for purchases made through these platforms. In addition, local warranty and other services may not be applicable to these products. We encourage our community to take extra caution before purchasing. As of now, there is no official announcement from realme Philippines on the local availability of the realme GT in local official online stores or local authorized realme stores and partner dealers nationwide.

That being said, it is best to wait for the official announcement from realme Philippines since buying a grey market phone has its own share of risks.
