While we argue that the POVA 7 is one of the best budget phones in 2025, one of its main criticism is that it’s a 4G phone that uses the immortal Helio G100 processor. What’s interesting is that in India, there’s a POVA 7 5G and a Pro version that sacrifices battery capacity for a more capable Dimensity 7300 processor.
While the 5G version of the POVA 7 does not have a huge 7000mAh cell like its 4G sibling, the 6000mAh battery is still respectable–and you still get 45w wired charging. You also get 30w wireless charging as well.
The display is also slightly better with a 144hz IPS panel that has a peak brightness of 900nits. The cameras are slightly better too: 50-megapixel for the main and 13-megapixel for selfies. Also unique to the 5G version is a triangular light strip called the4 Delta Light Interface that consists of 104 LED lights and is customizable for notifications–similar in principle to Nothing’s now-dead Glyph Interface.
As for the Pro version, you get upgrades that include a 64-megapixel IMX 682 main camera, 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 144hz AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 4500nits peak brightness.
The POVA 7 5G starts at INR 14999(~Php 10k) for the 8GB/128GB model, while the POVA 7 Pro 5G starts at INR 18999(~Php 13k)for the same variant. Both models will go on sale in India on July 10, and it remains to be seen if TECNO will bring either model to the Philippines.
