HUAWEI has a solid line of laptops, and the MateBook D series offer solid value for its price. Those looking for a decently-specced one can opt for this 2024 version that has a Core i5-13420H processor that’s paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. It uses a performance-focused variant of the 13th Gen Core i5, so you’re getting decent performance for its price of Php 42k, which you can buy at HUAWEI’s online store. That price also comes bundled with a Logitech mouse.
Apple MacBook Air M1 – Php 43,890
Gone are the days where MacBooks are associated to be expensive, as the M1 MacBook Air is a good deal for under Php 50k. Granted that the M4 MacBooks are (probably) coming soon, the M1 chip still offers plenty of power–yours truly still uses an M1 MacBook Pro as his workhorse, and it accomplishes everything–video editing included. Beyond The Box and other Apple retailers currently sell the 256GB variant, which should be fine for the casual user.
ACER Aspire Vero 15 – Php 43,368
ACER also has a few good offerings at under Php 50k like this variant of the Aspire Vero 15 that has a Core 15-1335U processor that’s paired with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage. You can upgrade both the RAM and SSD later on, and its display is a 15.6-inch Full HD panel. This one comes with an Iris Xe integrated GPU, which is capable of running some games if you intend to do so.
ASUS VivoBook 16 – Php 47,995
If you’re looking for a large display with decent specs for under Php 50k, ASUS has this variant of the VivoBook 16, which comes with a Core i7-1700H processor that’s paired with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD. Its 16-inch display may only have a 60hz refresh rate, but you do get a WUXGA (1920×1200) resolution, which is decent for general use. This model also has a variant with a Ryzen 7-7730U processor, and that one is Php 3k more affordable–and both of them come bundled with a copy of Office Home and Student and a backpack.
Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 – Php 47,995
If you’re after more RAM, this version of the IdeaPad Slim 3 comes with 16GB RAM and has a Ryzen 7-7730U processor, which is a decent combination. You also get a 512GB SSD, along with a 14-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display and a sleek silver body. Aside from the usual bag bundle, you also get a copy of Office Home and Student as well, making this a deal if you also care about software.
