Another Me smartphone from CM
We would forgive you if you though Cherry Mobile had decided to abandon quad-core smartphones, what with all the octa-core announcements lately. But that’s not the case – eagle-eyed blogger Randolph Novino of Pinoy Screencast spotted a new, unannounced member of the Me family dubbed the Me Pop. Unlike the recently announced Me Vibe, the Me Pop is a quad-core smartphone that’s priced at Php 3,299.
Cherry Mobile Me Pop specs
- 1.3GHz quad-core processor
- 512MB of RAM
- 5-inch IPS WVGA display
- 8GB of storage, expandable via microSD
- 8-megapixel rear camera
- 2-megapixel front camera
- WiFi, Bluetooth
- Android KitKat 4.4
- Php 3,299
We’re slightly disappointed to learn that the Me Pop is packing 512MB of memory – honestly we feel that 1GB of RAM should be standard now in the age of sub 5K octa-core devices. Anyway, the Me Pop looks to be a good phone to grab if you’re looking for an affordable 5-inch smartphone, though don’t expect it to perform miracles when you start playing games on it.
