It’s the chip that will be at the heart of flagships next year
It’s not a suprise but it’s still news to us: Qualcomm has officially announced their next flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 845.
The company made the announcement during their Snapdragon Tech Summit today. The SD 845 is the direct successor to their extremely successful SD 835 which currently powers many of today’s flagship phones. Qualcomm has not gone into the specifics of the capabilities of the chipset, but like the SD 835 before it, expect meaningful performance, power efficiency and image processing improvements over the previous model.
The SD 845 will be built on a 10nm manufacturing process like the SD 835, and will be armed with Qualcomm’s latest X20 LTE modem. More details about the SD 845 will be released later this week.
