Razer Phone Specs Leaked Via Retailer

Here’s a peek at what the upcoming phone will pack

Razer’s acquisition of NextBit has fueled rumors of a gaming-centric smartphone from the gaming brand, and while there’s no solid information from the brand itself, a new leak from a retailer has revealed some specs of the upcoming phone.

The upcoming phone is expected to come with a 5.75 IGZO display with a 120Hz response time, which is a clear indication that it’s aimed at gamers. It’s also pegged at having Dolby Atmos sound paired with dual front-facing speakers and amps certified by THX. Additionally, the phone will have a 12-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel secondary camera on the rear. Unsurprisingly, the phone is also expected to have a 4000mAh battery pack so gamers can play their games without having to worry about topping up.

While no specific processor package has been spotted as of yet, support for QuickCharge 4+ confirms that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm processor.

This isn’t the first time that a company is looking to leverage on a smartphone for gamers. Nokia was the first one to do so with their N-gage phone way back when. Sony has also experimented with the idea with the Xperia Play. Neither attempts really took off – it’ll be interesting to see if Razer is able to succeed where other brands failed.
