5 Reasons Why the realme 12+ is Worth Considering

The realme 12 series is now official in the Philippines–and while the star of the launch is the realme 12 Pro+, the realme 12+ is also a compelling offering, especially in the under Php 20k segment. It is the first plus model under the non-Pro series, and we think that the 12+ might be a compelling mid-range phone for under Php 20k.

Here are the five things that make the realme 12+ worth considering:

LYT600 sensor for the main camera

The realme 12+ shines with its all-new LYT600 sensor for the main camera, which is part of Sony’s new line of sensors. This 50-megapixel sensor shines in the mid-range segment, especially when it comes to low-light shooting.

Having used the 12+ for taking snaps, we’re impressed at the amount of detail you get even at night. You’d be hard-pressed to see any phone priced at under Php 20k to have that level of imaging quality.

Aside from its stellar imaging performance, you also get OIS and 4K video recording with the 12+, making it a solid companion for creating content.

Stylish slim design

The realme 11 series stood out with its stylish vegan leather back with an accent in the center, and the realme 12 series continues with that design language. The 12+ incorporates that premium design language with a slim body that has flat frame sides and an under 8mm thickness. Even impressive is that you have a 5000mAh battery inside the 12+, along with stereo speakers and a headphone jack–a feature that’s becoming a rarity in mid-range phones.

Just like the Pro+ variant, the 12+ has the same luxury watch design for its camera module, which is seen with its sunburst dial design that mimics high-end watches.

Top-notch display

While the 12+’s 6.67-inch 120hz AMOLED display may sound familiar, we like how realme managed to trim those bezels to give it a sleek, symmetrical look to make the 12+ more compact while having a large display.

The 12+’s display is also impressive: you get support for HDR10+ content, and it has a peak brightness of 2000nits–again, something you’d rarely see on a mid-range phone.

Decent set of internals

The 12+ is a capable phone with its use of a Dimensity 7050 processor that’s paired with 256GB of expandable storage and up to 12GB RAM. This is also the first time that the non-Pro model gets 12GB RAM, which will benefit power users who love to multitask between apps and games.

There’s also no question about the performance of the Dimensity 7050: this 6nm processor is tried and tested to handle the most popular mobile games in the market comfortably at up to high graphics. Love playing Genshin Impact, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Honkai: Star Rail? The realme 12+ can handle that with ease.

Value-added features

As a mid-range device, realme made sure to give great value to the 12+ with added features. Some of the realme 12+’s unique features include heart rate tracking using the fingerprint scanner, an IP54 rating, and 67w charging. You also get Android 14-based realmeUI 5.0 out of the box, along with at least 3 years of software updates.

The realme 12+ is priced at Php 17,999 for the 8GB/256GB model and Php 19,999 for the 12GB/256GB model.
