realme C55 with “Dynamic Island” Launching on March 7

Android phone brands are starting to follow the dynamic island trend starting with the Xiaomi 13 Lite, and realme is the next one to do so with the C55. The strange part with realme’s approach? The C55 is just a budget mid-range phone and you just have a regular punch-hole.

Instead, realme is implementing a software tweak on the C55 that gives you that dynamic island setup. Called Mini Capsule, the software interface will show low battery alerts, charging status, data usage, and step count. It’s not even going to be available right out of the box–realme said that the unique software interface will be made available at a later date via an OTA update.

Aside from the unique dynamic island software UI, the C55 is a typical budget mid-range phone. It’s powered by a Helio G88 processor and comes with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. The display is a 6.72-inch Full HD+ panel with a 90hz resolution and a punch-hole (a regular punch-hole, not a capsule-shaped variety) for the 8-megapixel selfie camera.

Going to the back, the C55 will have a dual rear camera setup led by a 64-megapixel main shooter. You also get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a headphone jack, and a 5000mAh battery with support for 33w charging. The latter is a first for the C series, and realme is committing to include at least 33w charging even on its entry-level phones this year.

realme will have an online event in Indonesia for the C55 on March 7, where they will reveal the price by then.
