While realme is known for its value-for-money phones, the brand is inching towards the premium segment with the upcoming GT 2 Pro. In a post by founder and CEO Sky Li, he described the GT 2 Pro as their “first and most premium flagship phone.” This indicates that the GT 2 Pro will be the brand’s most expensive device and will compete against the likes of Xiaomi’s 12 series and Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series.

According to rumors, the GT 2 Pro is the phone that was allegedly spotted in AnTuTu breaking the one million mark with its Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor. Other rumors about the flagship phone include Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 out of the box, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage onboard, 120w SuperDart charging, and a 6.51-inch WQHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
It will reportedly have a 32-megapixel selfie camera and a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS–the latter being a rare addition to any realme phone, and a good indication of how premium the GT 2 Pro will be. Speaking of premium, OnLeaks and 91Mobiles shared an alleged render of the GT 2 Pro with a visor-like camera bump that is reminiscent of the Nexus 6P save for the triple rear camera setup. Aside from the 50-megapixel main camera, the GT 2 Pro will have another 50-megapixel camera and an 8-megapixel camera, along with special GR lenses from Ricoh. Adding to its premium appeal is the use of a flat aluminum frame along the edges.
The GT 2 Pro is expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2022.
