realme is finally launching their first, honest to goodness flagship smartphone dubbed the realme GT 5G. The new phone will be sporting a 5G chip, along with Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 888 chip next month, specifically on March 4 in China.

If the realme GT 5G is in fact the previously rumored realme Race, the phone should run on an Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0, and packed with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone gets a rectangular camera module with a 64-megapixel sensor headlining the triple-camera setup, accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 13-megapixel telephoto sensor. A hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera in the top left corner of the screen is also seen.

With no official published specs available many reliable sources expect that the GT 5G will come with 125W UltraDart charging, a 6.8-inch (1,440×3,200 pixels) OLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio with refresh rates of 120Hz or 160Hz.

The specs are not surprising, though it’s the first time we’ve seen such a high-specc’d product coming from the brand.

According to a reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the GT 5G units come in two distinct designs, one with a glass back and the other with a leather-like texture. This is also supported by image leaks of the backside of the unit/ In addition, we might see the GT 5G offered globally as it was also spotted in smartphone listings in India. Take note that all the information relating to the phone’s release are all rumors, however, it is very unlikely that realme will keep their first top-tier flagship smartphone as a China-exclusive product considering the brand has been making incredible headway in countries like the Philippines, growing exponentially since they first appeared in the market a few years ago.
