Xiaomi India CEO Manu Kumar confirmed this news on his Twitter account, where he met with Qualcomm officials. In the same Tweet, Kumar said that the Snapdragon 730-powered Redmi phone is coming to India very soon.
The Snapdragon 730 is an 8nm-based chip that uses new Kryo 470 cores, Adreno 618 GPU, and native support for WiFi 6. In our initial benchmark test with the Snapdragon 730-powered Galaxy A80, the 2019 upper-mid-range processor is as powerful as 2017 flagship processors like the Snapdragon 835 and Kirin 970.
