Compared to the Galaxy Tab A7, the Galaxy Tab A8 gets a slightly bigger 10.5-inch TFT display with the same WUXGA resolution. Unlike the Galaxy Tab A7, the Galaxy Tab A8 has a 16:10 aspect ratio instead of a 15:9 aspect ratio. Like its predecessor, you get a quad-speaker system that supports Dolby Atmos.
New to the Galaxy Tab A8 is Samsung TV Plus, which is a streaming service that offers over 200 free channels (live and on-demand), though availability is dependent on the market.
Samsung claims that the Galaxy Tab A8 has a 10% CPU and GPU performance improvement over its predecessor, but did not disclose the processor used. However, previous reports point to the Galaxy Tab A8 using a Unisoc Tiger T618 processor, which is a 12nm-based SoC that uses two Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores–all running at up to 2Ghz. In comparison, the Galaxy Tab A7 used a Snapdragon 662 processor.
Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab A8 comes with a 7040mAh battery with support for 15w charging, along with an 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. RAM and storage configuration is similar to the Galaxy Tab A7, though the Galaxy Tab A8 will also offer a 4GB/128GB variant.
The Galaxy Tab A8 will be available in the US and other regions in January 2022 with a starting price of 230 Euros(~Php 13.1k).
