The expansion of Google’s Android Wear initiative means that more and more brands and manufacturers are going to go into the fold. One such brand is Samsung who already has their foot in the door of wearables via their Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit. Apparently those wearables aren’t enough, with Samsung releasing yet another wearable, the Gear Live.

The Gear Live runs on Google’s Android Wear OS, which is a departure from the Tizen OS that’s running on their previous wearables. Much like the Gear Fit, the Gear Live uses a Super AMOLED display and is IP67 rated, meaning water shouldn’t be a problem, allowing it to survive the shower or a leisurely dip in the pool. The Gear Live comes equipped with a built-in heart rate monitor, and will unlike the company’s recent Gear watches, will be able to pair with any Android device running Android 4.3 or higher.

Folks in the US can start ordering the Gear Live through the Google Play store.
