Samsung Galaxy Mega coming to the Philippines!
Last April we posted that Samsung was launching a new phablet line-up globally called the Samsung Galaxy Mega series. We just confirmed from the local PR agency of Samsung Mobile Philippines that they’re launching them here on June 7 at the new Samsung concept store in SM Aura. We’re not entirely sure though if Samsung Mobile PH is going to offer both the 6.3 and 5.8 models.
To refresh your memory here are the spec sheets of both devices:
Galaxy Mega 6.3 Spec Sheet
- 1.7GHz Dual-core CPU
- 1.5GB RAM
- 8GB/16GB expandable via microSD up to 32GB
- 6.3-inch HD screen
- 8.0-megapixels rear-facing camera
- 1.9-megapixels front-facing camera
- Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
- 3,200mAh Battery
- 4G/LTE Connectivity
Galaxy Mega 5.8 Spec Sheet
- 1.4GHz Dual-core CPU
- 1.5GB RAM
- 8GB Internal Storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD
- 5.8-inch qHD Display
- 1.9-megapixels front-facing camera
- Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
- 2,600mAh Battery
- HSPA+ Connectivity
For us the 6.3-inch model makes more sense since networks here are really investing heavily into LTE infrastructure. We’ll be covering the event so expect to hear more updates come June 7.
