Samsung’s Exynos Twitter account uploaded a teaser image for the company’s upcoming Exynos 9 chipset, which is expected to be stuffed inside some regional variants of the next flagship Galaxy S8 series.
Recent leaks concerning the still-unannounced Galaxy S8 revolve around Samsung’s usage (and hoarding) of Qualcomm’s first big batch of Snapdragon 835 SoCs. It’s important to note, though, that the earlier S7 series also launched with Exynos variants for certain markets. The teaser image more or less confirms that Samsung is planning the same move for the next-gen S8 line.
As for the Exynos 9, some are speculating that the long-rumored Exynos 8895 SoC will be stepping up to the plate as the latest iteration of the chipset. Again, these are all rumors for now. Maybe we’ll get a clearer picture once Samsung does its rounds at the MWC 2017 later this month.
