Samsung Reportedly Working on their Own Version of Night Mode

Samsung calls it “Bright Night”

As Samsung continues to tease upcoming features by introducing them to the Galaxy A series, the South Korean brand is also working on its One UI software. Specifically, they are developing their own spin at night mode called “Bright Night”.

Spotted by XDA Developers in the latest Galaxy Note 9 Android Pie/One UI build, Bright Night will work just like Huawei’s Night Mode, OPPO’s Ultra Night Mode, and OnePlus’ Nightscape: the phone will take multiple photos and compile them using computational photography for the best low light shot possible. This will require users to keep their hands steady for a few seconds, which should not be a problem since the Galaxy Note 9’s cameras come with OIS and EIS.

The said code in question

XDA Developers adds that there’s no guarantee that the said mode will appear in the official Android Pie build of the Note 9. However, expect Bright Night to debut on the Galaxy S10 series—which is Samsung’s make-or-break phone for 2019.
