Samsung Teases Clamshell Foldable Smartphone Form Factor

Samsung Teases Clamshell Foldable Smartphone Form Factor

A more compact Galaxy Fold?

As we wait for the arrival of the much-awaited Galaxy Fold in the Philippines, Samsung is working on another foldable device. If the Galaxy Fold was all about going big, Samsung’s next foldable is about going small—this time, Samsung is working on a clamshell foldable, similar to the oft-rumored Motorola RAZR 2019 that is set to launch on November 13.

In Samsung’s concept video, the upcoming foldable has a punch-hole display and looks like a Galaxy Note 10+ display (sans curved sides) that can fold in half. Unlike the Galaxy Fold, the concept render shows bezels that are far slimmer from Samsung’s first foldable. According to rumors, Samsung’s second foldable will be cheaper and slimmer than the Galaxy Fold.

Samsung is expected to unveil its new foldable phone (which might be called Galaxy Fold 2) at MWC 2020.
