More Phablets and Tablets Coming This Year!
Samsung is setting their sights on growing their tablet and phablet businesses this year. During their regular call with analysts during their Q4 2013 financial performance, they shared that they want to build on the “big screen” category that they built with the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and the Galaxy Note. They plan to do this by coming up with more tablets and phablets in different sizes and specs. By diversifying and expanding their tablet and phablet line-up, they’re repeating the strategy they used with the Galaxy S4 (S4 Active, S4 Zoom, S4 Mini, etc).
It will be interesting to see how they’ll roll this out this year. They actually already tried doing this with the several sizes of the first and second generation of Galaxy Tabs (10.1, 7, 8, etc) but at that time Android for tablets was still pathetic. Hopefully the recent improvements will revitalize the tablet business for manufacturers like Samsung.
Anyway, we expect to hear more from Samsung in February during the Mobile World Congress which will be held in Barcelona, Spain. It’s already known that they’ll be officially introducing their newest flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S5. They probably won’t waste that chance and introduce a new tablet or phablet as well.
