Samsung’s Foldable Galaxy X to Launch Early Next Year in a Limited Run

Samsung’s Foldable Galaxy X to Launch Early Next Year in a Limited Run

Around 100,000 units of the Galaxy X will be produced

While we don’t know much about the Galaxy X, new details about Samsung’s mystery smartphone indicate that it will be in limited production.

Known as SM-G888N0, Samsung’s first smartphone with a foldable screen will most likely launch before the Galaxy S9/S9+. If we follow Samsung’s product launch cycle, the Galaxy S9/S9+ will launch on the week of Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress, which will happen from February 26 to March 1 next year. Prior to MWC, Las Vegas’ CES will be happening from January 9 to 12. While CES is not an ideal event to launch mobile phones, a writer from Forbes thinks that this might be the possible date for the launch of the Galaxy X.

“That will allow Samsung to gather consumer feedback and significant volumes of real-world testing on the new screen technology,” Ewan Spence said in his article.

With the short timeline, the run of Galaxy X phones will be sold in South Korea, and around 100,000 units will be made available. By releasing a limited run of the Galaxy X, Samsung can determine the viability of a smartphone with a foldable screen, improving further on the overall design before a global release late next year.
