In its push to make 5G more accessible, Smart is preparing an affordable 5G-ready phone for the masses. Ahead of its official launch, a Facebook Marketplace listing revealed the official packaging of the Smart 5G phone, along with its official price of Php 5,450. That makes Smart’s budget 5G phone one of the most affordable 5G-ready devices in the market.

As mentioned in the box, the Smart 5G phone is based on the ZTE Blade A75 5G, which made its initial appearance at MWC 2024. Despite being a budget offering, the Blade A75 5G has a very interesting set of specs that include 128GB UFS 3.1 storage, 8GB RAM, a 50-megapixel main camera, and a 6.6-inch HD+ 120hz IPS display. While the official listing for the Blade A75 5G did not disclose the processor used, a hands-on video mentions that it uses a Unisoc T760 processor.

The chip is based on a 6nm process and has a CPU configuration of one Cortex-A76 prime core running at 2.5Ghz, three Cortex-A76 performance cores, and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. It does support UFS 3.1 storage, though memory support is limited to the older LPDDR4X standard. As for the cameras, it supports up to a 108-megapixel sensor, and can support up to a 120hz full HD+ refresh rate–which means that the Blade A75 5G is not maximizing the chip’s full power with its HD+ display.

The price for the Blade A75 5G includes a Smart 5G prepaid SIM that has pre-loaded data allocation. Expect Smart to reveal more details about its own 5G phone soon.
