Smart will be offering Android One handsets
Just like in the launch of other countries, Google has partnered with local telcos to deliver the Android One experience to the Philippines. One such telco is Smart, and they’ve announced that they’ll be offering Android One devices under their Plan 499.
- Unlimited Facebook
- 200MB for App Downloads via Play Store (First 6 months)
- 100MB for OTA updates (First 6 months)
- Lock Out Period: 24 Months
The first device to be offered is the Cherry Mobile ONE. The Cherry Mobile ONE will be offered under Plan 499 which includes 1.5GB of mobile internet, as well as 200MB allocation for app downloads/updates for the Google Play Store, as well as 100MB allocation for Android OS updates. The two allocations are for the first 6 months immediately after activation.
