Smart Silently Unveils New 5G Pocket WiFi Before Christmas

With Smart upgrading its 5G networks starting with the unveiling of its 5G Max service in BGC, the telco silently unveiled a new pocket WiFi on its online store with the 5G Pocket Pro. This is different from the similarly-named pocket WiFi they revealed several months ago–this is a new model from Smart, using a ZTE U50 Pro as mentioned in its Lazada and Shopee listings.

Some of the key differences with this new version of the 5G Pocket Pro include a huge 10000mAh battery inside that makes this pocket WiFi also double as a power bank, along with a bigger 2.4-inch display with touchscreen functionality. Charging is done via a USB-C port on the side, where it supports 27w wired charging.

It also has NFC functionality where you can tap your phone to the 5G Pocket Pro to connect to the internet. You get support for WiFi 6, with the modem capable of connecting up to 64 devices at a time. It’s also bundled with a Smart 5G SIM as well. You also get the same Snapdragon X62 modem used on Smart’s other 5G Pocket Pro models, which supports download speeds of up to 3600Mbps.
