The Sony Xperia Acro S looks like one of the best smartphones that Sony has produced. We say that because this is one of the first smartphones we’ve seen that combines good technical specifications with built-in protection and ruggedness. In other words this thing is fast and it can take a beating. I don’t see any reason why it won’t do well unless Sony screws up their marketing.
So far here’s what we know when it comes to what’s under the hood:
- 1.5GHz Dual-core (Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon processor)
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB internal storage, expandable via micro-SD card
- 12-megapixel rear facing camera, auto focus, LED flash
- 1.3-megapixel front facing camera
- 4.3-inch touchscreen, 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, ~342 ppi
- 1910 mAh battery
- Water and Dust Resistant (IP57 certified)
- Water proof (up to 1 meter and 30 minutes)
- Scratch resistant shatterproof glass (whut)
- OS: Android 4.0 ICS

Based from our sources the SRP of the Sony Xperia Acro S will be anywhere from Php27,000-Php28,500 making it slightly more affordable than the Samsung Galaxy S3 or the HTC One X. Local online reseller Widget City also has already announced it will carry the Xperia Acro S and we expect them to sell it at an even lower price (maybe around Php25,000?).
