Sony’s “Unique” Selfie Camera, DSC-KW1 is Now Official

It certainly is something else

Remember that weird looking, rotating lens Sony selfie camera that got leaked? Well, it’s now official, at least in China. The DSC-KW1 has been announced in the Chinese mainlaind, where selfies are, apparently, all the rage – much like here in the PH. That perfume bottle design isn’t an accident either – apparently women over there like decorating their phones that look like premium Chanel perfumes, so it’s only natural that Sony took the next logical step and designed their selfie camera like one.

As far as specs go, the leaks were right on – the DSC-KW1 uses a new, 19.2-megapixel camera paired with a 21mm f2.0 lens that can be rotated 180 degrees. Connectivity options abound as well, with users able to transfer their photos (and selfies) via WiFi and NFC, while a 3.3-inch OLED display shows you if you framed your duckface correctly or not.

The DSC-KW1 is priced at RMB 5,199 in China, which comes out to Php 37050 before taxes. Yikes. Apparently taking a good selfie comes at a premium.
