One of the most affordable dual-core Android smartphones in the market
Have 3K but don’t know what to do with it? How about buying yourself a new dual-core Android smartphone? Starmobile has just unveiled their newest product: the super affordable Play smartphone, priced at around Php 2,999. So what does Php 2,999 buy you? Well, you’re getting a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Mali-400 GPU, 512MB of RAM, 4-inch WVGA capacitive display and apparently, a super loud speaker.

Looking at the specs, it seems that Starmobile’s newest smartphone may be a very good deal, as similar devices that we reviewed in the past with the same Mediatek MT6572 chip in them performed well considering the price point. It also has a pretty beefy 2000mAh battery in it, which Starmobile promises will last around 4 hours with continous talk time, and 10.5 days in standby. We’ll have to check for ourselves if the device does live up to its promise of possessing super loud speakers. The Starmobile Play comes in three colors – red, white and blue.
