Starmobile’s Up Xtreme Has Shatter-resistant Glass For Cheap

Starmobile has announced a new phone in their UP product line: the Xtreme. The Up Xtreme is a budget phone that’s equipped with a shatter-resistant, 5-inch HD display. Aside from the tough screen, Starmobile also promises that the phone is pressure resistant up to 30 kilos of direct pressure (no more cracking if it’s sat on) and is drop resistant to heights of up to 1.8 meters.

The UP Xtreme also comes pre-installed with freenet, an app developed by Filipino firm Voyager Innovation that enables users to surf sites and blogs and use popular apps for free. Starmobile says they are the first and only phone brand to have freenet out of the box.

The phone is equipped with MediaTek’s MT6580 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and has 8-megapixel cameras on the front and rear. The phone is priced at Php 3,990, and will retail at Starmobile stores and kiosks by May.
