“Sustainable” Nokia G60 Arrives in the Philippines for Php 17k

HMD Global is expanding its offerings at its cross-border shop in Shopee with the Nokia G60 5G in the Philippines. Unlike their previous offerings, we think that HMD Global is giving a fair price for the G60 5G at Php 16,890.

While it may be over a year before HMD Global made the Nokia G60 5G available in the Philippines, its official local pricing makes it more palatable than its original SRP which is close to Php 20k. Despite a dated notch for its 6.58-inch Full HD+ 120hz display, the main selling point of the G60 5G is its focus on sustainability.

HMD Global has been emphasizing sustainability with its recent offerings, and the G60 5G is proud to use 60% recycled plastic for the entirety of the phone. That’s a nice goal on HMD’s part, but we also appreciate its new pricing as it has a good set of features to boot.

For one, the G50 5G has a triple rear camera setup that includes an ultra-wide camera–a feature often omitted on several mid-range phones. The main camera is a 50-megapixel shooter, and we presume that HMD Global has optimized the hardware for it to make the G50 5G take great shots. The 5G-ready Snapdragon 695 is a processor you’d typically see in this price segment, so no complaints on the G60 5G’s internals.

The battery capacity is fairly decent at 4500mAh given its size, and its 20w charging is just fine–not the fastest, but at least it’s not those slow 10w charging solutions that HMD Global usually offers with its mid-range Nokia devices. Of course, there’s HMD Global’s commitment to software updates, with the G60 5G guaranteed for 3 major OS updates and 3 years of security updates.
