TECNO CAMON 30 Pro 5G vs OPPO Reno11 F

TECNO has brought over the CAMON 30 series to the Philippines, and they are a big step up from their predecessors with their internals and especially the cameras. The CAMON 30 Pro 5G, for one, has all the markings of a great mid-range offering in the Philippines for under Php 20k. It has plenty of rivals in the said price segment, and one of those models is the OPPO Reno11 F.

Let’s compare both phones and see which one offers better value overall:

Design

Both phones feature unique designs that are attractive and can stand out from the crowd. The CAMON 30 Pro 5G has a vegan leather option, while the Reno11 F comes in trendy, youthful colors. Both phones have flat frame sides and have an in-display fingerprint scanner, though the Reno11 F is slimmer at 7.5mm (vs 7.7mm on the CAMON 30 Pro 5G).

Both phones have roughly the same button and port layout, though the Reno11 F has the slight advantage of having an IP65 rating for peace of mind against accidental water splashes.

Display and speakers

The CAMON 30 Pro 5G and Reno11 F look premium with their Full HD+ AMOLED displays that have slim bezels emphasized with their skinny chin. The CAMON 30 Pro 5G has a higher refresh rate at 144hz, though the Reno11 F’s refresh is not far behind at 120hz.

Both phones do not have a headphone jack, and the CAMON 30 Pro 5G has the advantage of having stereo speakers to make up for it.

Cameras

The CAMON 30 Pro 5G reigns over the Reno11 F when it comes to cameras with its use of a 50-megapixel IMX890 for the main camera and a higher-resolution 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. You also get OIS on the main camera, along with the capability of shooting 4K video at 60FPS.

While the CAMON 30 Pro 5G has a better selfie camera–50-megapixel with eye tracking AF–the Reno11 F is at par with it when it comes to selfie videos, as both can do 4K at 30FPS, making both phones great for vlogging.

Internals and battery

Another aspect where the CAMON 30 Pro 5G is superior is with the internals, as you get a Dimensity 8200 that’s paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. That’s better than the Reno11 F’s setup, where you get a Dimensity 7050, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage. Both phones make use of faster UFS 3.1 storage, which translates to snappier load times for apps.

When it comes to battery and charging speeds, both phones are roughly at par with one another: you get a 5000mAh battery, 67w charging on the Reno11 F, and 70w charging on the CAMON 30 Pro 5G.

Software

Both phones come with Android 14 out of the box, and both are expected to get at least 2 major Android updates and 3 years of security updates, which is the baseline for mid-range phones in 2024.

Price

The Reno11 F is priced at Php 18,999, while the CAMON 30 Pro 5G is priced at Php 19,999. The CAMON 30 Pro 5G’s higher price tag is justified, as you get a generally better set of specs across the board–especially if you are after cameras.
