TECNO unveiled the POVA 5 globally. This time around, it seems that there will not be a Pro model, as the POVA 5 flexes an interesting combination of a large 6000mAh battery and a relatively fast 45w charging–both features being exclusive to the POVA 4 Pro last year. TECNO appears to market the POVA 5 as a gaming phone with its mecha-inspired Turbo Mecha design for the back panel.
Like its predecessor, the POVA 5 is powered by a Helio G99 processor that is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. As for the display, you are getting a 6.78-inch Full HD+ IPS display with a 120hz refresh rate and 240hz sampling rate–numbers that should attract gamers on a budget. Cameras on the POVA 5 consists of a 50-megapixel main camera and a depth sensor in the back, along with an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
Like fellow Transsion brand Infinix, the POVA 5 also has a Free Fire collab that includes special packaging and contents. TECNO said that the POVA 5 will be available in Southeast Asia, Middle East, and Latin America, so there’s a good chance that it will be made available in the Philippines–and possibly at an under Php 10k price tag if the pricing of the POVA 4 series is our basis.
Also joining the POVA 5 is the POVA Neo 3, which has a similar design but has toned down specs: Helio G85, 128GB internal storage, a 16-megapixel main camera, and a 6.82-inch display with an HD+ resolution. Its main selling point is the huge 7000mAh battery inside it.
