Using the Ultra term denotes that they are the best of the series, and TECNO formally uses it with the top-end variant of the POVA 7. In its press release, the POVA 7 Ultra 5G joins other models in the line that include the POVA 7 Pro 5G, POVA 7 5G, POVA Curve 5G and POVA 7. Being the top-end variant, the key specs of the POVA 7 Ultra include a Dimensity 8350 processor–the same one found on the CAMON 40 Premier.
While it has the same 6000mAh battery with support for 70w charging that’s found on the POVA 6 Pro, the POVA 7 Ultra 5G adds 30w wireless charging–a feature that’s also available on the POVA 7 Pro 5G, POVA 7 5G, and POVA 7.
While TECNO didn’t disclose what cameras it will have, it mentioned that one of the key specs of the POVA 7 Ultra will have a customizable Mini-LED status light. The display is a 6.78-inch 144hz AMOLED display with a 1.5k resolution and a peak brightness of 4500nits. It’s a flat panel, which is more ideal for gaming-focused phones. There’s also mention of 4D Gaming Vibration, Dual Speakers with Dolby Atmos, and “a suite of customized gaming features,” along with a 12-layer Cooling Architecture and a 5,300mm² vapor chamber to manage temps.
Aside from having HiOS 15 Special out of the box, the POVA 7 series will debut a FreeLink feature that “enables peer-to-peer communication across a range of up to 1km in signal-free environments.”
There are still missing details, and we expect TECNO to reveal more about the rest of the POVA 7 series in the coming weeks.
